St. Mark's Episcopal E3 service.

Our second E3 service will be celebrated Sunday June 6th at 6:00pm.  We continue to learn about technology and space issues, how to blend ancient traditions with 21st century sensibilities.  The mission and vision of this service is two-fold.  First, we hope to provide a modern day alternative for our Eucharistic service that is true to both our theology and our pattern of worship.  Secondly, we also hope to soon invite folk not currently worshipping at St. Mark’s or anywhere to experience the Word of God and the power of the Sacrament of Blood and Body.  Finding the best balance of all elements in our beautiful liturgy is a complex endeavor.  It is exciting to be at the beginning of an emerging worship experience where we take nothing for granted.  Do we vest or not?  Do we use wafers or real bread?  Do we process to Gregorian chant or U2?  Which creed will we affirm this Sunday, when will we pass the peace?  What does it mean to move it later in the service?  Do we use a confession every service?  Already we have received kudos for our service order which explains the meaning of each of the Eucharistic components.  We invite you to come and look at how we Experience Episcopal Eucharist with a new eye.  We invite you to help us shape this communal worship experience.  After the June 6th E3, we will celebrate the next one on July 4th at 6:00pm.
